Automated Assessment Feedback for Exams in Higher Education

Status ongoing

Project begin 06.2024

Description

Assessment is central to learning and teaching in higher education. Alongside proposals from researchers to replace traditional assessment methods, handwritten tests are still the most common method of assessing learning in higher education. Throughout the process of assessment, the literature suggests that the most important part of this process in terms of improving learners' future learning is the feedback they receive.

In addition to the general challenges that exist in relation to feedback in higher education, there are some specific challenges with written exams. The current project thus investigates how the general and specific challenges regarding feedback in written exams in higher education can be solved through the use of technology.

To achieve this goal, design science is applied as a methodological approach.
